Bronx CoWorks to provide unique shared business environment

A Bronx community organization is providing office space in an unconventional way that will bring various different businesses together.

Bronx CoWorks aims to grow businesses while providing affordable office space for not just one company, but any that choose to join in.

The suite, located on Third Avenue, is funded by private stakeholders instead of government grants. The prices for a space, should a company want to join, range from a common area seat for $250 per month, to a full office suite anywhere from $525 to $2,500.

"Here, you're surrounded by other creatives, other businesses, and you can start to grow your business network and a lot of studies have proven that by growing your business network," says The Hub 3rd Avenue BID Michael Brady.

Beyond paying for the office space, groups also pay a monthly $35 membership fee that covers amenities like Wi-Fi.

Bronx CoWorks partners say they have received interest ranging from architects, cleaning companies, painters and lawyers.

The entrepreneurial idea opens up for business in early April.
