Candlelight vigil held for Tinton Ave. shooting victim

A candlelight vigil was held Wednesday night for a 21-year-old woman who was found dead inside a Bronx apartment building stairwell.

Hundreds of people stood in solidarity along Tinton Avenue and lit candles in Aaliyah Alder's memory.

As News 12 reported, Alder was found shot in the head Monday evening.

According to police, Alder's accused killed is her friend's boyfriend, 22-year-old Davaughn Johnson. He was arrested and charged with murder, among other charges.

Alder's stepfather says she was at the Forest Houses with friends the night she was killed.

Police sources tell News 12 Alder may have been shot after getting into an argument.

Johnson is expected back in court April 3.
