Data shows significant development growth in the Bronx
It's no secret the Bronx is the new hottest borough in the city, and according to a report by Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., data proves it.
Developers invested more than $3.2 billion into construction projects across the Bronx in 2016, and most of them were for residential buildings.
According to the report, more than $920 million was invested in Norwood and Bedford Park.
The South Bronx has gotten $2.5 billion in investments since 2009, the report details.
The former Kingsbridge Armory that is slated to become a national ice skating rink remains the number one development in the Bronx with more than $350 million invested.
Diaz is hoping a new state budget will help fund the Kingsbridge ice skating rink so that developers can finish the project.
