'Muslim Women's Peace March' held in Mt. Hope

A dozen women gathered in Mount Hope Saturday for the "Muslim Women's Peace March."

Organizer Ramatu Ahmed, of the African Life Center, told News 12 that she wanted to raise awareness for the importance of women and to speak out against what she says is an anti-immigrant sentiment in the U.S.

Ahmed started the African Life Center in Ghana, and for the past 16 years she has helped hundreds of women find resources and support for their families.

"I just want to be a figure where women can come and talk to me if they have any issues," she told News 12. "If you need any support or any help, they can feel confident in me, because I'm like them."
