Castle Hill Boys and Girls Club reaches finals in $20K contest

A Bronx branch of the Boys and Girls Club has been chosen as a finalist in the national organization's door-decorating contest.

The Kips Boys and Girls Club in Castle Hill is among seven locations around the country remaining after 600 initially entered the contest.

Entrants decorated their local club's iconic blue doors with unique themes.

The Castle Hill club's design is inspired by a time machine, staff members say.

"They go through the door, and in time...they can be productive citizens of this country," says Rosemond Dzah.

The winning branch will be chosen next week and will receive $20,000 in renovations from Lowe's.
