'Kick Butts Day' educates students on dangers of smoking
Students at the Academy of Mount St. Ursula are learning to stand up to Big Tobacco.
The students were taught about the threats of tobacco and smoking as part of international Kick Butts Day.
Presenters at the school showed students a map they created that pinpoints where cigarettes are sold in the Bronx.
According to the New York State Department of Health, 88,000 high school students currently smoke and 8,000 New Yorkers under the age of 18 become new daily smokers each year.
