City Island residents begin early digout

Residents in City Island are taking a head on approach when it comes to digging out of the snowstorm.

The snow started coming down slower and transitioned into rain Tuesday afternoon in the Bronx neighborhood proving to be the perfect time for residents to begin digging out.

Residents predict there is about six inches on the ground, and they are confident they can dig out.

Officials announced that city public schools are open tomorrow.

The Bronx is under a winter weather advisory until 8 p.m. tonight.
