Kmart display reflects back-and-forth weather

Shoppers flocked to the Kmart on Bruckner Boulevard Monday for items like snow boots, winter pants and rock salt ahead of expected heavy snowfall -- items the store put out on display alongside spring and summer clothes.

News 12 meteorologists say the city could see 12 to 19 inches of snow. The National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning from 12 a.m. Tuesday until 12 a.m. Wednesday, with winds 35 mph or stronger and drifting snow. Wind gusts could reach as strong as 60 mph.

The Weather Service also issued a coastal flooding advisory Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Forecasts show additional snow showers Wednesday.
