City offers free tax prep service at two new BX locations

Thinking about your taxes may be the last thing on your mind ahead of what is expected to the most significant snowstorm of the year, but organizers in the Bronx want residents who haven't filed yet to know they can file their taxes for free and enjoy a cup of coffee while doing so.

NYC Free Tax Prep offered Bronx residents a free cup of coffee and a chance to get their taxes done Monday, also free of charge.

It is the 15th year in a row the city's Department of Consumer Affairs has offered the tax-prep service.

Organizers say there are over 200 sites across the city where New Yorkers can go.

The two newest sites are located at the Mosholu Montefiore Community Center on Dekalb Avenue and two Neighborhood Housing services facilities in the borough.

The final day to file taxes is Tuesday, April 18.
