Hindu community in the BX celebrates Holi

The Hindu community in the Bronx welcomed spring Sunday with the celebration of colors known as Holi.

The annual celebration of love, friendship and positivity is typically taken outside, but Sunday's freezing temperatures kept the festivities inside the Vishnu Temple in Soundview.

The blue, red, white and yellow hues displayed represent life, new beginnings and the power of good over evil.

Despite the cold temperatures outside, the Holi celebration will last throughout the week.
