Frigid temps to linger in the Bronx this week

Snowfall largely subsided across the borough by early Friday afternoon, leaving the trip home for many students and commuters much easier than in the morning.

Accumulation was so low in some places that people were out playing basketball. That changed after sundown.

Overnight lows were forecast in the mid-teens, with wind chills in the single digits.

They will remain below freezing Saturday, with a high near 29, according to forecasts, but skies will be clear and sunny.

Officials are urging drivers to remain cautious of slick roadways amid the deep freeze.

Highs are expected to remain in the 30s throughout next week.
