FDNY uses drone to battle building fire in East Tremont

FDNY crews took a new approach to battling a building fire in East Tremont Monday evening.



The started on the sixth floor of a six-story building at 653 Crotona Park North.



The drone that was used gave officials a real-time view on iPads of the scene from up above.



Firefighters say about 10 apartments were affected by either flames or water damage.



News 12 is told two firefighters suffered minor injuries, and no civilians were injured.



Officials say the fire may have been electrical due to how it traveled, but an official cause is unknown.
