Bronx baby shower held for new, soon-to-be moms

New and soon-to-be parents gathered in the Bronx Saturday to learn about services available to their growing families.

The event was held at Monsignor Scanlan High School and marked the first of five city-wide baby showers hosted by the New York City First Lady Chirlane McCray.

Organizers say they aimed to inform parents about services available to them during pregnancy, infancy and toddler years.

They say parents learned about health care, education, and child-caring techniques.

Over 300 parents had the opportunity to participate in the baby shower and learn from about 40 organizations.
