ICE: 30 LI gang members arrested in nationwide sweep
Thirty alleged Long Island gang members were arrested in a massive nationwide U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement roundup.
Sources told News 12 Long Island that a total of 151 gang members and associates in New York were arrested during the six-week crackdown. ICE officials say 1,378 alleged gang members were arrested across the United States.
Officials say 238 firearms were seized and nearly $500,000 was confiscated.
The crackdown comes in the wake of the suspected MS-13 killings of 17 people in Suffolk County over the last year and a half. That includes four young men believed to be murdered by the gang in Central Islip last month.
