Pre-K students at St. Lucy's School are using new technology to enhance learning in their classrooms thanks to some much-needed funding.
Bronx Councilman James Vacca allocated $450,000 to all parochial schools in District 13 – allowing students to touch, hear and visually learn. He says his district is the first in the city to allocate funds for technology to parochial schools participating in the city's universal pre-K program.
"Enthusiasm is great and it's rewarding for me to see this," Vacca says. "It's going to be something they'll take with them to future grades and that's a good feeling."
The technology will remain in the classroom for future students to use.
