Pianos return to Prospect Park
A piano has returned to Joyce Kilmer Park as part of the Sing for Hope program.
A total of 12 pianos have been placed in Brooklyn, and 50 additional pianos around the five boroughs, as a way to encourage exposure to the arts.
Each piano is decorated by a local artist.
The one in Prospect Park was painted by Lance Johnson. He says he got his inspiration from the sound of jazz and Brooklyn.
The pianos will remain until June 25 when they will be donated to schools across the city by a nonprofit.
