THE BRONX -

Sunday marked the final day of the eighth annual Riverdale Riverfest at the College of Mount Saint Vincent.

Organizers say the festival is meant to bring awareness to the community's proposal to install a greenway for recreational use along the Hudson.

"We are the community of Riverdale, but we actually can't access the river except for this one day," said one volunteer. "So that's a big reason we hold this event."

The event featured a bounce house for kids, food vendors and arts and crafts.

A highlight this year was the chance to take boat rides on three different historic ships.
