The La Peninsula Head Start Center received a fresh coat of paint Tuesday, thanks to the combined efforts of the NYC Administration for Children’s Services and Publicolor volunteers.
The volunteers work with Publicolor to give back to their community and execute projects as a team. Officials say no parents or caretakers volunteered Tuesday.
News 12 is told Publicolor plans to bring their cause to child care centers across the city.
“Color really affects attitudes and behaviors,” said Irma Nepomuceno, a Publicolor employee. “We're here to provide those colors and get the community involved, to get the kids to be the leaders in their environment and transform the spaces."
Organizers encourage anyone interested in volunteering with Publicolor to visit their website and register.
