Cheddar Afternoon Business Report 8/9: Facebook, Google, transit brew

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK -

Facebook is officially pulling the plug on Lifestage, its teen-only social network.

The social media giant launched the platform a little under one year ago, as a rival to Snapchat, after Snapchat reportedly turned down Facebook's all-cash offer of $3 billion. Facebook has since shifted its focus to Instagram stories.

Google may be in even more hot water after over 60 women filed a class-action lawsuit alleging sexism and pay disparities. Some of the women claim they make nearly $40,000 less than male counterparts, despite handling the exact same responsibilities.

And if you like your beer overcrowded and stressful, then Blue Point has the brew for you. The Long Island-based brewery is introducing a new beer inspired by Penn Station. The beer is aptly called "Delayed" and will only be available at Penn Station.
