Police identify suspect in attempted rape of 74-year-old woman

Police say they have identified a man they say tried to rape a 74-year-old woman in Concourse Village.

Authorities tell News 12 that 23-year-old Joshua McCallum follow the victim into her apartment building on Park Avenue and 161st Street last Friday night. They say McCallum put the woman in a chokehold and grouped her as she approached the apartment door. 

The 74-year-old victim was able to bang on a neighbor's door and McCallum ran away.

Police say the suspect is five feet seven and about 180 pounds. 

Officials say anyone with information should call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
