WEST FARMS -

Three people are accused of robbing a West Farms couple inside their home at gunpoint, police say.

The incident happened on Aug. 18, inside a residential building on E. 180th Street and Southern Boulevard around 9 a.m.

Police say a woman knocked on the couple's door and pretended to be a friend to the 55-year-old woman who lives inside.

The woman and two other men who were waiting outside, pushed their way inside of the home where they pulled out guns and demanded cash.

The 55-year-old woman's husband rushed to help her but was pistol whipped in the face by one of the male suspects.

Police say the three suspects got away with $900 before leaving.
