Officers from the 43rd Precinct helped pay it forward by making the dream of one of their own a reality.
Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo, of Long Island, was killed in the line of duty almost a year ago. His widow says he always hoped to someday build a treehouse for his two sons, but unfortunately his life was cut short.
Officers from the 43rd Precinct and first responders from Long Island donated their time and materials to build a treehouse. The treehouse looks like a mini-43rd Precinct.
The inspector at the 43rd Precinct says the volunteers put in 12-hour days sometimes. He says it was an overwhelming sense of community appreciation for the family.
The treehouse has been named 43rd Precinct East.
