Posted: Updated:
PELHAM BAY PARK -

Visitors to Pelham Bay Park can step up their workouts now, with $880,000 worth of new fitness equipment.

In all, there are 13 new pieces. Six of them are compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act.

There's also new fitness gear at the park's playground for children.

The community group Friends of Pelham Bay Park say they worked closely with the city Parks Department.

There's also a new boardwalk near the updated playground to place children closer to nature. It overlooks the pond.
