Cheddar Morning Business Update 10/5: Google Pixel 2 pre-orders nearly sell out

  • Facebook goes to Washington but CEO Mark Zuckerberg and COO Sheryl Sandberg will likely stay home. Congress is scheduled to question Facebook executives about how Russian based groups used Facebook ads to help influence the U.S. election. A final decision still hasn't been made but Zuckerberg and Sandberg will likely not be there and instead be on an earnings call with investors.
  • Google's newly announced phones are already nearly sold out. The company also showed off a pair of wireless headphones that can translate between 40 languages, literally in real-time. If you ask them to "Help me speak Japanese" and then start speaking in English, the phone will output your translated words as you speak them.
  • Stranger Things season 2 is expected soon on Netflix. And Stranger Things the video game is already here.  It's made by Bonus XP for Netflix and is available now, for free, in the app store.
