Boogie Down Bites: Freckles Juice Bar

Posted: Updated:
BAYCHESTER -

A juice cafe focused on healthy living is blending up the food scene on Dyer Avenue.

Freckles Juice Bar owner Felicia Forbes, who named the spot after her own signature freckles, says she is excited to bring fresh fruits and vegetables to their Baychester neighborhood.

"It makes us feel really good, like we're here for a reason, a purpose," says Forbes.

Restaurant-regular Khady Pryce says she has been using her frequent buyer card, and says the drinks are helping her lose weight.

"I'm happy to have it because you get tired of fried food every minute so this is something different and healthier," says Pryce.

In addition to juices and smoothies, Forbes also makes some food as well and sells local bakers’ vegan cakes.

The second anniversary for Freckles will be on Oct. 28, and they will be doing a customer service appreciation event where patrons can try different drinks.

After two years, Forbes is also now displaying and selling local artists' works inside the cafe.
