Brooklyn man charged in deadly Bed-Stuy home invasion
Police arrested a Brooklyn man in connection with a deadly home invasion last week in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
Police say suspects entered the Decatur Street home of Waldiman Thompson, 91, and his wife Ethyln, 100, last Wednesday afternoon. Sources say the suspects used pillow cases and clothing to tie up and blindfold the couple.
Thompson was later pronounced dead at a hospital, and his wife was treated for injuries.
Suspect Dwayne Blackwood, 27, is facing a charge of second-degree murder, as well as two counts each of assault and burglary.
Thompson's funeral service was held Friday morning at Hanson Place Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was laid to rest at Cypress Hills Cemetery.
Police say a second suspect remains on the loose. They ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
