NYPD officer who was dragged by car earns promotion

The NYPD officer who was dragged by a car in East Flatbush just five months ago was promoted Friday.
Officer Dalsh Veve was promoted to detective specialist at the department's monthly promotion ceremony.
Veve could not be in attendance as he is still recovering from serious injuries. As News 12 has reported, he was dragged for more than two and a half blocks by a stolen car back in June.
Police Commissioner James O'Neill presented a certificate to Veve's wife, Esther, and a special gift to their 2-year-old daughter, Dashi.
"They know they have us as a family and as support and we'll continue to do that," O'Neill said.
Commissioner O'Neill told News 12 that Veve has been moved from King's County Hospital to a rehab facility, but he suffered catastrophic brain damage that will likely have long-term implications.
