  • The Justice Department is reportedly putting the breaks on AT&T's planned purchase of Time Warner unless Time Warner sells the Turner television unit  includes CNN. Some are questioning whether this is all about politics.  President Trump has often called CNN fake news. 
  • Goldman Sachs wants to make it easier for American businesses to invest in China.  The bank tells CNBC it's working with the China Investment Corporation to establish a $5 billion fund so US companies can have better access to the Chinese market. 
  • Starbuck's newest creations include toasted White Chocolate Mocha and Chestnut Praline Chai Tea Latte. There's also a Candy Cane Whoopie Pie — two  chocolate cakes with peppermint icing.
