A viral video of a hostile employee at a DUMBO restaurant is sparking widespread controversy in the borough.
The DUMBO Kitchen employee has since been fired but the community came together Friday night for an open forum to get on the same page with the business owner.
In the video, the employee can be heard saying everybody knows her manager is racist as she aggressively removed a black customer from the restaurant.
Community members aired their concerns with the owner at the forum. The owner maintains that the former employee does not reflect the values of the business.
But community members are still demanding accountability and wants to be assured that another person like that won't be hired again.
At the forum, attendants discussed ideas such as customer surveys and undercover bosses to keep tabs on their employees performance.
