Cheddar Morning Business Update 12/4: Netflix to release 34 originals before end of year

  • AT&T will face off against the Justice Department in court on Dec. 7, The DOJ is suing the telecommunications company in an attempt to stop its $85 billion merger with Time Warner, arguing a merger would make AT&T too powerful, and hurt competition. 
  • A glitch in the IOS operating system was automatically rebooting iphones over and over again, causing people to miss notifications and alarms. Apple has issued a software update to fix the problem. 
  • Netflix streaming service is releasing 34 more original movies, shows and specials before the end of this year. Releases include season two of The Crown and new stand-up specials from Dave Chappelle and Judd Apatow, and an action movie named Bright, featuring Will Smith.
