Newark police say several fires kept crews busy amid the bitter cold weather this weekend.
Officials say they fought three house fires within a span of only a few hours.
Firefighters dealt not only with the fires themselves, but cold, frozen equipment as well as car crashes that occurred due to icy roads.
Officials say there were no major injuries to any firefighters or residents, and that all of the fires were put out in a very short amount of time.
They say one man was hospitalized for smoke inhalation and complications due to asthma but is expected to be OK.
Residents affected by the three fires are being assisted by the Red Cross.
