A widow is asking for the public's help to find a hit-and-run driver who killed her husband.
Police say Jose Cedillo, of Elizabeth, was found lying next to his pickup truck at Applegarth Road and Forsgate Drive in Monroe on Nov. 23. They say another vehicle hit the 44-year-old and took off.
Leslie Cedillo, the victim's wife, says Jose was on his way to work at the time of the incident.
The grieving widow says she is so devastated that she won't be celebrating Christmas this year. She says she took down all of her holiday decorations after the accident.
"My best friend was taken away from me," Leslie says. "My husband was taken away from me. My life was taken away from me."
Prosecutors have recently released photos from the scene.
A cash reward is being offered for any information that leads police to the suspect.
The family plans to hold a vigil for Jose later this month.
