Former New York Giants player David Diehl stopped by Manville High School Monday to discuss concussion awareness with the students.

Diehl spoke to about 400 students about the severe brain damage that can be caused by concussions. He is an ambassador for Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health.

Diehl says that he urges parents to learn more about baseline testing as a concussion preventive measure.

“I think that is a security that you need and that it’s something you can do now to be proactive,” Diehl says. “In case something does happen, you're there and prepared to take care of your kid in the best way possible.”

Diehl says this breakthrough in technology to scan for concussions is available on local levels and will help future athletes in the long run.
