Marijuana is now legal in California for adults 21 and older. The biggest state to legalize marijuana in the U.S. It's expected to be a $7 billion industry. So far, only about 90 businesses received state licenses to open on New Year's Day - none in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" is officially 2017's top-grossing movie, bringing in another $52 million this weekend in the U.S. and Canada, and topping $1 billion worldwide. The film's success is giving the movie industry hopes of a rebound after a lackluster year, pushing overall box office sales up 3 percent.
Trader Joe's has been selling out of its new french fries - Spud Crunchies. They're a mix between french fry and potato chip, described as "salty, crunchy, shelf-stable french fries" made of just three ingredients - Russet potatoes, canola oil, and salt.
