There is a $2,000 reward being offered for information on whomever threw a dog from a moving car in Holtsville.
The black and white male pit bull was dumped Thursday on Elmhurst Street and Washington Avenue.
Witnesses saw someone force the dog out of a silver car.
"The dog was covered in dried blood and there was blood in the backseat of her car, so the dog was abused in some way, or was involved in something that caused it to bleed that we're not sure of. We are waiting for the vet reports to come back at this time," says Capt. Paul Llobell, of the Suffolk SPCA.
Anyone with information can call the Suffolk SPCA at 631-382-SPCA.
