Officials: Man charged with stabbing friend over $20

A man is behind bars in Stamford after allegedly stabbing another man several times over $20.
Recardo Williams, 40, was arraigned Thursday on charges he stabbed a 46-year-old friend seven times.
Police say the incident happened late Tuesday afternoon on Stephens Street on the west side of the city. They say he was stabbed below the left ear, on the chin, on the outside of the shoulder, on the back of the shoulder, above the pelvis, in the thigh and between two fingers.
"The suspect had lent the victim $20," said Stamford Police Officer Christian DiCarlo. "They started arguing when he's going to get paid back and it just kind of rose to the level where a physical altercation occurred."
Officials say the victim lost a lot of blood. A good Samaritan brought him to the hospital. He is now listed in critical but stable condition at Stamford Hospital.
Williams was previously arrested in 2016 on charges that he slashed his girlfriend with a knife. He is being held on $205,000 bound and is due back in court Feb. 15.
