Police say they pulled over a speeding car in Orange early Tuesday morning and found a cache of drugs.
Jonathan Brito, of Derby, and Jocelyn Serrano-Rivera, of Hamden, were arrested. Police say after stopping the duo, officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana.
They searched the car and say they found a pound of marijuana, half a kilogram of cocaine and about $2,500 in cash.
"The dog detected it," says Robert Derry, of the Connecticut State Police. "That's what he's trained to do. At that point, the vehicle, now we can search it on the side of the road because of the probable cause."
Serrano-Rivera was released on $25,000 bond. Brito is being held on $7,500 bond.
