The New York state Department of Health issued a warning Friday to people all over the city for potential exposure to measles.

A tourist from Australia infected with the virus visited dozens of places throughout the five boroughs and upstate, and also spent a significant amount of time in Brooklyn.

Health officials say the person visited some of the city's most popular attractions and stayed at the Best Western Hotel on Atlantic Avenue on Feb. 19 and 20.

Symptoms of measles, which usually appear up to two weeks after exposure, include fever, rash, cough, conjunctivitis or a runny nose.

The health department is asking anyone who may have been exposed or may have symptoms to contact their health provider before seeking medical care.
