Mayor Bill de Blasio has announced a plan to ease traffic congestion across the five boroughs.

The initiative is designed to ease traffic in busy thoroughfares, the mayor says.

The new effort will include both the creation of moving lanes and NYPD block-the-box violation enforcement.

The plan hopes to limit curbside access in crowded corridors, and bring coordinated attention to recurring traffic spots on local highways.

Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn is among one of the spots the mayor says he would like to implement the new plan.
