Man slashed during attempted robbery in Bronx subway station

THE BRONX -

A man was slashed in the face during an attempted robbery inside a Bronx subway station, police say.

The incident happened Saturday around 3 a.m. inside of the 219th Street subway station.

Police say the 39-year-old man was approached by two men who demanded his belongings.

The man refused and police say one of the suspects slashed him in the face with a sharp object.

The victim chased after the two men before losing sight of them.

He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center and treated for a cut to the left side of his face.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
