An arrest has been made in a hit-and- run crash in Elmont that sent a police officer to the hospital.
Authorities say Luemhetep White was allegedly involved in a car crash on Wellington Road around 5:30 a.m. Saturday
Instead of stopping, officials say the 21-year-old took off and at one point, even ran over a police officer's foot.
Investigators say White turned up about 10 minutes later less than half a mile away on Ludlam Avenue.
That's when police say White lost control of the car and went off the road.
After hitting a house, police say White took off running, but was arrested about 12 hours later. They say the white BMW the suspect was driving was allegedly stolen.

White has denied the charges.
The injured officer was taken to the hospital, where he was treated for swelling and bruising.
White was arraigned, and his bail was set at $100,000.
