Monday's spring snowstorm caught some Bronx residents by surprise.
Some parts of the Bronx got just over 6 inches of snow, making for the largest April snowstorm in about 15 years in New York City.
Traffic flowed smoothly during the evening commute on Castle Hill Avenue and the Bruckner Expressway. The streets were largely clear of snow from the morning, with the remainder melting away. Residents told News 12 they were appreciative of the cleanup efforts, which included 693 salt spreaders and 1,600 plow trucks.
The snow also impacted New York Yankees fans. The home opener was postponed to Tuesday due to the weather.
Children at Crotona Park seemed to enjoy the snow, but their parents said they hope it's gone for the season.
