Bronx pop-up shop gives away free prom outfits
The Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club hosted its fourth annual Prom Pop Up Shop Saturday, providing boys and girls with free prom outfits at no cost.
The pop-up shop was started by Soundview native Sheena Palmer and services students from Bronx Middle and High School.
Students in need of prom-wear can select dresses, suits, shoes and accessories of their choice.
Clothing is donated by Bronx residents and local boutiques with the purpose of lessening the financial burden on Bronx families.
The pop-up shop has continually been a success and plans to expand beyond New York City.
