Boogie Down Bites: Arthur Avenue Retail Market

Posted: Updated:
THE BRONX -

Tucked inside the world famous Arthur Avenue Market lies shops that share over 70 years of success.

Shops like Peter's Meat Market and Mike's Deli are just as famous as the market they are located in.

Owner David Greco says Mike’s makes a sandwich named after the man who calls it his favorite, actor Robert De Niro

The sandwich is layered with prosciutto, fresh made mozzarella cheese and finished with aged parmigiano reggiano, figs, truffle oil and balsamic dressing.

Greco says he makes over 200 pounds of fresh mozzarella every day.
