Community Board 11 met Wednesday evening to discuss parking problems near the site of a proposed new development in Bronx Park East.
Critics say that the corner of White Plains Road and Thwaites Place is already congested, and local parking garages are already at capacity. They say they worry the proposal, which would bring more than 20 new housing units to the immediate area, could complicate the problem.
Some residents say that it takes them 20 minutes to get to the nearest grocery store on a busy afternoon, and they don't want a continued parking headache.
The developer was not at the meeting. So far, the developer has added six parking spots to the original plan.
Residents say that is not enough.
