Metro Optics marks 40 years at Parkchester location

THE BRONX -

A Bronx eye care business in Parkchester is celebrating a big milestone this month.

Metro Optics is marking 40 years at their location.

Michael Ungaro, who opened the business in 1978, says the secret to its longevity is providing customers with a more personal touch and keeping up with changing trends.

“We always pride ourselves on customer service and quality,” says Ungaro.

Metro Optics has four locations in the Bronx. Many of the employees have worked here for more than a decade.

“We have always been part of the Bronx and we plan to be part of the future,” says John Bonizio, the company’s chief operating officer.
