Arrest made in deadly shooting outside Linden 7-Eleven

Police have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with a deadly shooting outside of a 7-Eleven store in Union County.
County prosecutors say that Darwin Cadet shot 27-year-old Brian Pierre in the parking lot of the Linden store located on the 1800 block of East St. Georges Avenue Tuesday evening. Pierre died en route to the hospital, according to officials.
Authorities soon identified Cadet as the suspect in the shooting. He was found and taken into custody Wednesday morning. Cadet faces murder and weapons charges.
A 7-Eleven employee tells News 12 New Jersey that he is thankful that the shooting did not happen inside the store. The store was open for business Wednesday morning.
