Report: Connecticut drivers most unsafe in country

Connecticut drivers are the most unsafe motorists in the United States, according to a 2018 safe driving report from EverQuote Insurance.
The report says drivers in the Northeast are the most unsafe overall, with contributing factors including aggression, speeding and distractions such as using a phone while driving.
Some drivers who spoke with News 12 Connecticut said the state's many congested and narrow roadways don't help, often adding to aggression and stress.
The report also says Northeast drivers have a heavy foot. On average, those drivers speed on almost half of their trips and aggressively accelerate more than drivers in any other region.
The report says Midwest drivers are the safest, while drivers in the South use their phone the most. Rhode Island came in just behind Connecticut for unsafe drivers.
