Police: Driver dies after Suffolk crash

A driver was killed and another man was injured in a one-car crash in Greenlawn Friday evening, according to Suffolk police.
Officials say Michael Spera was behind the wheel when he lost control of his car shortly before 7 p.m. at the corner of Clay Pitts Road and Stratford Avenue.
Spera, 34, of East Northport, was pronounced dead at Huntington Hospital.
A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Christopher Walsh, 36, of East Northport, was taken to Southside Hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
