P.S. 19 takes turn in fight against bullying

Posted: Updated:
WOODLAWN -

The dance team at P.S. 19 in Woodlawn is stepping up efforts to fight bullying in a dance competition hosted by the Department of Youth and Community Development.

Almost 100 competing teams planned community service projects and raised awareness about issues in their community. Thousands of young dancers performed.

But only 10 teams made the finals, and P.S. 19 is looking to improve on last year's performance, in which they were knocked out after the third round.

The finals kick off Saturday at the Brooklyn Academy of Music's Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn at 7 p.m.
